The Cord is symbolic of the Strength of the Promises of His Words, Protection, Provisions. The Cord represents His Words that are woven through His the Bible which contains:
- Law,
- Prophecy,
- and the 153 Words of God…
which completes the three-fold cord to give it strength.
Through the Trinity we see the Way of the 3-Fold Cord. The apostle Paul explains it to us in 1 John 5:7. John reveals “there are three who bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are One“. John is saying that they are as a 3-fold Cord that cannot be broken.
1 John 5:7 (NKJV) – The 3-Fold Cord
7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
Consider the relationship between the “Key” of the Lord and the 3-Fold “Cord” that is not easily broken. In Revelation 3:7 the Lord says that He holds the “Key” to the House of David. There are 3 things that are integral to the Bible, and they confirm the eternal integrity of the inspiration of the Spirit. They are His Law, His Prophecies and His Words. These 3 things are woven throughout the Bible in a manner that is likened to a 3-Fold Cord that is not easily broken.
Solomon reveals this understanding to us within a riddle recorded in Ecclesiastes 4:12.
Ecclesiastes 4:12
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
The Lord has sealed His Holy Bible with parables using His Words, Prophecy, and the straight teaching of the Law and its Ways. These 3 testify to the divine authorship of the Bible, and it is through them that knowledge of is unlocked from the scriptures. It is therefore not surprising that the “Key” and the “Cord” have the same numerical gematria value of 235.
Number all things by His Words (Number Your Days)
The “Cord” or “Line” or “Chain” also means that we should number all things by His Words.
That is taught to us in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 11:18-21, for the Lord says that we are to look at everything through the Ways of His Words. He says that His Words should be as frontlet to our eyes. This can also be called “Measurement Binding” – Doing the Way of the Words 3 times to bear fruit (3rd Spirit – Spirit of Understanding) for example. Number your days.

The 4 Cords on the Prayer Shawl (Tzitzit) are symbols of the Covenant Promises of God that are in His Holy Words.
The four cords on the Prayer Shawl, the tzitzit, are the symbols of the covenant promises of God that are in His Holy Words, are in the Cord. The Lord uses a cord – the tzitzit – at the edge of prayer shawl that He gave to the Jewish people. It was the hem – the Cord – or border, of the Lord’s prayer shawl that the woman with the blood issue had touched and power went out and healed her. Why did Jesus know when she touched Him? It is because He felt the power go out. She did the way of the Words of God in faith and did what is very powerful. Garment is symbolic of Knowledge of Truth – His 153 Holy Words.
Matthew 9:18-22 – Woman with flow of blood 12 years healed
18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples.
20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the report of this went out into all that land.
Mark 6:53-56 – Many Touch Him and Are Made Well
53 When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret and anchored there. 54 And when they came out of the boat, immediately the people recognized Him, 55 ran through that whole surrounding region, and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was. 56 Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well/.
