How “Salty” are you?

In the Bible “Salt” is symbolic of…

  • the elements (atoms, etc.),
  • God’s covenant/promises,
  • and being humble.

Salt is symbolic of God’s elements and particles (atoms, etc.)
Salt is symbolic of the elements/particles (atoms, etc.) that God puts together to build all things. Salt is symbolic of God’s CONTROL over every particle of His Creation (earth, man, animals, plants, etc.) He made everything with His spoken word and He tells us in Isaiah 40:26 that He numbers EVERY HOST. What is a “Host?” Hosts are elements.

Isaiah 40:26
26 Lift up your eyes on high,
And see who has created these things,
Who brings out their host by number;
He calls them all by name,
By the greatness of His might
And the strength of His power;
Not one is missing.

Salt is symbolic of the meek and humble.
This is probably where the term “He’s the salt of the earth” came from. So, Salt is symbolic of the Humble/Meek followers of God (which is the opposite of PRIDEFUL foolishness). Remember that the meek shall inherit the earth… not the foolish.

The Marriage “Salt Covenant”
During the times of old, agreements and promises were sealed by a salt covenant. In a marriage, the man and woman would each take a pinch of salt from their pouch and place it in the pouch of the other. That was their covenant and promise to each other. This “Salt Covenant” is the act of combining individual grains of salt into one vessel during the wedding ceremony. It’s symbolic a man and woman coming together in a marriage. God wants us to be married to Him and be “Seasoned with Salt” – which is your covenant relationship between you and Him.

Use Salt to Season your Grain (Bread)
In the Bible the words “Bread”, “Grain” and “Treading out the Grain” means teaching others the “Good News” which is teaching them about Jesus, the Holy Word of God, the Knowledge of Truth, etc. God requires that EVERY sacrifice like your “Grain Offering” be seasoned with Salt (Leviticus 2:13). I also believe that since salt is also symbolic of your covenant with someone else, when you tell others about salvation through Jesus we should keep the covenant and follow-through and NOT let them get let astray by the devil or the world. We need to be their guidance and support.

Leviticus 2:13 (NKJV)
And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt.

Salt is Food for Health
Natural salt is loaded with minerals and electrolytes which your body needs to stay healthy, strong and functioning properly. But, not all salt is good salt. Stay away from that white processed salt you see in the grocery stores and get some Himalayan salt or some quality salt from the USA like “Real Salt” https://RealSalt.com/
